Term 3, Week 2
 You must complete at least five of the boxes. - shaded boxes must be done.  Complete written work in your home learning book. Your home learning is due in on Thursday.
WRITING
This term we are going to be writing speeches. Create a list of 5 topics that you could write a speech about.

Choose one of these topics and begin writing an introduction for it.
WORD STUDY
We began this week by looking at adjectives (describing words). We had a chance to use them in our sentences. Can you write down 5 good adjectives that you have read or have come up with?

          READING
Make sure you are participating in a reading experience for fifteen minutes each night. Reading experiences can include:

- silent, independent reading;
- reading aloud to an adult or sibling:
- being read to by an adult.
           

TEACH YOUR PARENTS….
The best way to retain new knowledge is to teach it to someone else. This is ‘TEACH Your Parents’, not ‘Tell Your Parents’. This isn’t a recount of something that happened this week but a chance to be a teacher for your parents. Just saying ‘I taught my parents about fractions’ isn’t enough.  You need to detail what skill/s you taught and how you taught it/them. It doesn’t matter if they already know what you teach them.
MATHS
Continue working on your basic facts for Maths this week. Try and get onto Xtra Maths at least three times this week. If you do not have internet at home then complete the math worksheets given to you by Hannah.
OUTINGS
Go to the mall or airport and see how many people you can get to return a smile. Try the same thing at a different mall, or different time of the day. Make a prediction about results or hold a contest. What worked?
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY / SPORT TRAINING
Complete some form of physical activity at least twice this week. They should be at least 30 minutes in duration. Write down what it is and how long you did it for.
SPELLING
Complete look, say, name cover, write, check for your words every night. You will need to remember your personal words for your test on Friday.
HOUSEWORK
Do some housework everyday this week. Write it down in your book.
Term 2, Week 8
 You must complete at least five of the boxes. - shaded boxes must be done.  Complete written work in your home learning book. Your home learning is due in on Thursday.

WRITING
On Friday we began our “Writer’s Notebook” using this as a basis for your writing this week write a recount about something that has happened or something that you have seen this week. Don’t forget to include our margin mascot “Mr Stick” somewhere in your writing.

We have been looking at how to write quality comments on the blog. Click on the tab named “commenting on the blog” watch the YouTube clip again to remind you of what a quality comment should include. Have a go at writing your own quality comment.

WRITING
Using the newspaper article from last week you are going to write your own newspaper article about our visit from Science In A Van which happened on Monday or an event of your own choosing. If you have forgotten about our visit from Science In A Van check out the blog.
E-LEARNING
Last week we had a go on www.tagexdo.com writing down a collection of words and making these into a picture. Have a go at creating your own one of these on the computer. If you can print this out and put it into your home learning book.

 CLASS BLOG
We have a classroom blog just for Room 27 which is a way for you to share with your family all about the exciting learning that is happening in our room. Create a quality comment on the blog which will include who the comment is for, something that you liked and who the comment is from.

WRITING
We have begun looking at newpaper articles in class. This a way for people to report information. Looking in your local newspaper or online find an article that you think is interesting. Print it or cut it out and glue this into your home learning book.
BAKING
At home this week with an adults help do some baking in the kitchen. Write down what you made, how you helped and what it tasted like.

 SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS
Using one of the experiments that we have done in our classroom this term complete one of your own at home with your family. Don’t tell them what will happen, just help them to predict, observe and reflect.

Week 10, Term 1
Task 1:
This week we have been focusing on getting our blog up and running. This is a great opportunity for us to share with your family what is happening in the classroom. Head onto the blog and practice commenting, but don’t stop there get an adult to also comment on the blog.

Task 2:
Draw a picture of your family, put them all into height order.

Task 3:
Studyladder: navigate your way onto studyladder and login using your own personal login. Complete some of the set activities.
